Hay pocas bandas femeninas que hayan logrado triunfar de manera rockera y comercial en medio mundo y que lo ha yan hecho siendo adolescentes. De hecho, sólo hay una: The Runaways. Joan Jett, Lita Ford, la malograda Sandy West y Cherrie Currie saltaron al ruedo de la fama y el guitarreo en 1975 y se deshicieron entre broncas y excesos en 1979. En ese tiempo dejaron el acné atrás y escribieron una pequeña página en la historia del género.
